Re: VAR
Well our Chairman Mr Gold think it’s a brilliant conception and cannot see what all the grief has been for… said he does not want ref’s to be involved by looking at monitors as they have a hard enough job running around as it is…. The bloke is a complete and utter prize one Bellend

You can get any idiot to do that Manuel

When can you start?

Re: VAR
It's nonsense to say linesmen will become redundant as they will still be needed to flag fouls, throw in's etc.

Re: VAR
Had breakfast this morning with a referee of over 40 years experience - he retired about a decade ago.

His verdict? "VAR is fucking up the game. It should be restricted to goal-line technology, it's making the linesmen (who are all fully qualified to referee in the lower leagues in their own right), redundant."

I suggested that it was only a matter of time before some bonus-seeking advertising executive managed to get an advert in during VAR consultation.

HIs rather louder that expected, not-so-under-the-breath "CUNTS!" made the cafe laugh, so at least a small positive there...

Re: VAR
It can work and should work. In rugby the crowd are trusted enough to be involved. In football they treat us like cattle that should not be allowed to see it in case we kick off. They are deliberately fucking it up so people hate it and they say "there we told you it would not work". Football is corrupt

Re: VAR
the chelsea handball was very soft but by the letter of the law was correct as it states something along the lines of if the ball touches the arm of a player that leads to a goal its handball.

I was referencing the Ajax handball for the 2nd penalty where his arm was down by his side, they announced on the broadcast that it had been confirmed his 2nd yellow was for the handball.

Re: VAR
Agree on Pulisic, but did the ref review?

The handball hit the Chelsea player's hand, so correct (but stupid) but what was the Ajax player sent off for? 2nd yellow for handball or chirping?

If handball, beyond ridiculous.

Re: VAR
Except they still get decisions very wrong, didnt look like there was any contact on Pulisic for the first penalty, and the handball decision and then to send the guy off was absolutely atrocious

Re: VAR
Watched the Chelsea game yesterday. The UEFA version of VAR is far more efficient and quicker because the referee looks a the pitch side monitor.

No faffing with cunts many miles away.

Re: VAR
I hate Spurs with a passion but Son did not deserve a red card. VAR in general is not working but is that down to VAR or the clowns who review the decisions?

Re: VAR
Nope not bothered in the slightest Sven.... I enjoy my sleeping at night.... got far more important things in my life than if a footballer might or might have not got a decision go for him...

Re: VAR
I don’t like Spurs. I admit it
I guess that balances up some of the ENEMY WITHIN amongst our ‘support’

What was YOUR opinion on Alli scoring v Watford having handled & then not conceding a pen having punched away a corner?
Not bothered in the slightest it seems

Northern Sold 2:19 Wed Nov 6
Re: VAR
Your obsession with Spurs Sven is bordering on insanity… you must go through their games with a fine tooth comb… finding a niggle there…. a hack there… a foul that should have been a yellow… a yellow that should have been a red… it’s an illness like your obsession with Sheffield Shield Cricket and Tennis… let it go Sven son… let it go…

Re: VAR
So VAR said it was a red card, and VAR for VAR overturned it?

Have I got that right?

It's a load of old shit.

VAR is fucking shit

Fuck off

Re: VAR
What I find strange about Son's card being rescinded is that the PL issued a statement explaining why the red was given and yet it was still overturned.

Surely with every decision being reviewed now by VAR no future red card should be overturned.

Northern Sold 11:53 Wed Nov 6
Re: VAR
Yeah Yeah Yeah Sven.... if you had it your way Spurs games would get abandoned as every single one of their players would be sent off for either:-

a) Cheating
b) Foul Play
c) Eating bagels on the pitch

Change the record...

Sven Roeder 9:02 Wed Nov 6
Re: VAR
The red card was given for endangering the safety of a player.
There had been a tussle where Gomes had protected the ball and Son ran into his arm.
Son was enraged and chased him down. He was nowhere near the ball (you couldnt describe it as a tackle) and he hacked him down from behind.
Of course he wasnt to know that Gomes would be SO seriously injured but he had no regard for his safety and it certainly wasnt a genuine attempt at a tackle.
RED CARD should have stood to discourage this sort of deliberate thuggery.

Of course the cunt will now score a couple in the game against us that he should have missed.

Sydney_Iron 5:41 Wed Nov 6
Re: VAR
I read today the the red card given to Heung-min Son for that tackle on Andres Gomes has been overturned on review!

So just what the fuck was VAR doing during the game????? It was stopped for long enough after the tackle, 12 mins or something.............

Re: VAR
I take your points Rich but we have to forget about Clear and Obvious. It was a lie on the level with World Class Stadium with World Class Transport Links. Both got the result they wanted.

As for Palace's goal it took over 5 minutes from them scoring to us kicking off again. I timed it because im convinced that, along with VAR's other flaws, that the time taken to review isn't added on at the end.
